Alquilar

Terms of Service and policies

Version 3, effective 15 October 2026. The English text governs.

1. About Alquilar and these terms

Alquilar is an online marketplace that connects people looking for short stays (guests) with people who rent out homes and rooms in Algeria (hosts). Each reservation is an agreement between the guest and the host: Alquilar is not a party to it and does not own, manage or inspect the places listed. Alquilar runs the platform. It publishes listings, takes online payments, holds the host's share until it is due, charges a service fee, keeps the records, and helps both sides when something goes wrong.

These terms, with the privacy sections below, are what you accept when you use the Alquilar app or the website alquilardz.com. The English text governs; the French and Arabic texts are faithful translations so that you can read what you accept.

2. Your account

You must be at least 18 years old and give true information. One person, one account. You can sign in with your phone number (by SMS code), with Google or Facebook, or with an email address and a password.

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password and your phone safe, and tell us at once if you think someone else is using your account. You are told when your account signs in on a new device, and you can log out of every device from Security & account.

3. Verification

Before you can book, apply to host, or publish or change a listing, your phone number and your email address must both be verified. That is how reservations, receipts and invoices reach you, and how the other side can reach you.

To become a host you send a photo of a government identity document or passport (front and back) and your address. A member of the Alquilar team reviews the application and approves or refuses it, giving the reason; you may apply again. Identity documents are used only to verify who you are, are visible only to the team and are handled confidentially. We may ask any user to verify their identity again when it is needed to keep the community safe.

4. Listings and hosts

A host may only list a place they have the legal right to rent, and must describe it truthfully: photos of the place itself, the right location, the real capacity, the nightly price, the house rules (check-in and check-out times, pets, smoking, events) and whether cash is accepted.

A new listing is checked before it goes live, by automated checks on its text and photos and, where needed, by a person; it can be refused with a reason. No automated check catches everything, so a listing can also be hidden, suspended or removed later, for example after reports, with the reason shown to the host. Only the team can lift such a hold.

The host keeps the calendar up to date (blocked nights and the dates the place is open) and may hide a listing from new bookings at any time; stays already booked still go ahead. A listing cannot be deleted while a reservation still depends on it, and deleting archives it so that past stays keep their records. Hosts are responsible for the laws and taxes that apply to renting their place.

5. Prices, the service fee and currency

The price of a stay is the number of nights at the host's nightly price, plus any extra-guest fee the host set (charged once per reservation for each guest beyond the number included, not per night), minus any discount the host offers (weekly, monthly or a promotion; each night gets the largest discount it qualifies for, never two at once).

Alquilar adds a service fee of 15% of that price. The guest pays it, it is shown before paying, and it is Alquilar's commission for running the platform. What the guest pays is the price plus the service fee; what the host earns is the price. The price, fees and discounts are fixed when you start checkout and do not change afterwards.

Everything is charged, paid out and refunded in Algerian dinars (DZD). Amounts shown in euros or dollars are conversions for information only.

6. Booking a stay

You choose the dates and the number of guests, and Alquilar checks that the place is free and large enough. While you check out, the dates are held for you for a few minutes. An online reservation is confirmed only when the payment partner confirms the payment; Alquilar never marks a reservation paid on its own, and unpaid reservations are released automatically.

Some reservations, for example above a certain amount, are booking requests: the host has a set time to accept or decline, and once accepted you have a set time to pay. Both times are shown before you send the request, and nothing is charged before the host accepts.

A host cannot book their own listing, and a hidden or unapproved listing takes no new bookings. The exact address and the host's contact details are shared once the reservation is confirmed. Every reservation has a document: an invoice for an online stay; for a cash stay, a reservation summary and then an invoice once the stay is recorded.

7. Paying

Online, you pay by EDAHABIA or CIB card on the secure page of our payment partner, Chargily Pay. Your card number is entered there and never reaches Alquilar.

If the host accepts cash and you choose it, you pay the host the full total (price and service fee) in cash when you arrive, and nothing is charged online.

Never pay a host in any other way, and never send money before a reservation exists. Payments made outside Alquilar have none of the protections of these terms, and asking for them is not allowed (section 18).

8. Cancelling a reservation: guests

Every online reservation has a free cancellation window: until the first midnight after you book (in your own time zone), and in any case before the stay begins. Cancel inside it and you get everything back, service fee included, and the dates are released.

After that window you cannot cancel outright, but you can ask the host to cancel. If the host accepts, you get the host's share back; the service fee is not refunded. If the host refuses, the reservation stands.

A cash reservation can be cancelled by the guest within 24 hours of reserving it; after that, contact support. A stay that has ended can no longer be cancelled: contact support if something went wrong.

9. Cancelling a reservation: hosts, and when the guest isn't coming

A host who needs to cancel a confirmed reservation does not cancel it directly: they contact support from the reservation, and the Alquilar team decides. If the team cancels it for the host, the guest gets everything back, service fee included, and the cancellation counts against the host; repeated cancellations are reviewed by the team and can lead to restrictions.

When the guest is not coming (for example, you agreed on the phone), the host should not cancel but ask to cancel, giving the reason. The guest is asked to confirm within 24 hours, and the host's payout for that stay is on hold meanwhile. If the guest confirms, it is the guest's cancellation: the guest gets what the cancellation policy gives at that moment (everything inside the free window, the host's share after it) and nothing counts against the host. If the guest says they are still coming, or does not answer in time, the Alquilar team decides after hearing both sides: a guest cancellation, a host cancellation, or keeping the reservation. A host may ask at most twice about one reservation.

Alquilar may also cancel a reservation, with a full refund, in cases of fraud, safety, or a listing that should not have been bookable.

10. Refunds

When a cancellation gives money back, the refund is approved at once (or when the host or the team accepts it) and the matching money is held: the host cannot withdraw it.

Alquilar returns the money in DZD, either to the card you paid with through our payment partner, or by transfer to the CCP or bank account you give us in My refunds; the team verifies the details before sending. A transfer usually arrives within 3 business days of verification. You can follow every step in the app, and both sides are told when it is done. The service fee is refunded only where these terms say so.

11. Arrival, no-shows and "I couldn't get in"

Arrive at the check-in time the listing shows. If you will be late, tell your host; the app lets you say you are on your way and when you will arrive.

If something is wrong when you arrive (you cannot get in, the place is not as described, or it is unsafe), tell your host and Alquilar straight away, from the reservation where the app offers it or through support, and for an online stay within 24 hours of the scheduled check-in. The host's payout for that stay is held while the team looks at it, and the team decides what, if anything, is refunded. Later reports are handled by support case by case.

If a guest does not come, it is a no-show. For an online stay, nothing is refunded automatically: the service fee is never refunded, and support answers any other request. The host is paid as booked and may reopen the remaining nights. For a cash stay, the host records the no-show (sections 12 and 14).

12. Cash stays: the check-in, no-shows and the service fee

A cash reservation charges nothing online and holds the dates. At the check-in hour on the arrival day (the check-in time the listing shows), both sides are asked. The host records what happened: present and paid, or no-show; to wait for a late guest, the host may ask to be reminded a little later, a limited number of times. The guest can say they are on their way, with an arrival time, or that they have arrived, and the host sees it.

When the host records "present and paid", the guest is asked to confirm or dispute it within 6 hours; without an answer it is accepted. A dispute goes to the Alquilar team, which decides after hearing both sides.

A no-show cannot be recorded before the check-in hour. To record one, the host confirms that they called and messaged the guest without an answer and says how they tried. If they tried through the Alquilar chat, the messages they sent the guest that day are attached for the team; any other way (a phone call, WhatsApp, Instagram or other) needs one to three screenshots as proof, which only the team can see. If the guest said they were on their way, a no-show recorded before the arrival time they gave (plus a grace period) is flagged for the team. The guest is told at once and has 2 hours to dispute it; the dates stay held meanwhile, and the host can withdraw the no-show if the guest arrives. If the guest disputes, the team decides. If the guest does not answer in time, the reservation is cancelled and the dates are released; the no-show counts against the guest only as section 14 says.

If the host records nothing, they are reminded, the team is told, and the guest is asked whether they arrived and paid. If the guest says they did not come, the stay is closed as not having happened: the dates are released, no service fee is owed, nothing counts against the guest, and the team checks it. Otherwise, 2 days after the check-in hour the stay is recorded automatically as present and paid, and both sides are told. For 14 days after that, the host can dispute this record; the service fee for that stay is then on hold until the team decides. If a stay is still not recorded some days after it ends, the host's new cash bookings are paused until it is. The team can always record the outcome itself after hearing both sides. The times in this section are the ones in force today; the exact deadline is always shown in the app and in the notification.

The 15% service fee is owed only on cash stays recorded as paid, never on a no-show or a cancelled stay. It is added to the host's Platform fees balance and must be paid by the end of the month, by transfer to one of the accounts published in the app (CCP or BaridiMob, bank account, IBAN for euros or dollars, or crypto), with the personal reference shown there; the team confirms the payment and the balance goes down. Reminders are sent before the end of the month. If the balance is still unpaid after the month ends, the host's new cash bookings are paused, and five days later the account is suspended until the balance is paid.

13. Host earnings and payouts

A host earns the price of each online stay (not the service fee), less anything refunded to the guest. It becomes available to withdraw when the guest checks out, for every length of stay, and not while a refund, a report or a cancellation question about that stay is open.

The host withdraws to their own CCP, BaridiMob or bank account, at least 10,000 DA at a time. Every withdrawal is reviewed by the team before it is sent, and no delivery time is guaranteed. A change of payout account is announced to the account owner.

Cash stays are paid to the host in person and are not part of this balance. If money is owed back after a payout (for example, a refund decided later), it is deducted from the host's future earnings.

14. Strikes, suspensions and bans

A no-show recorded by a host counts against the guest only after 48 hours, during which the guest can dispute it; a dispute holds it until the team decides. Three no-shows suspend the account; the count is reset after six months.

A suspended account cannot sign in and is shown the reason, and the phone number and email it used cannot be used to open a new account. A suspension for unpaid fees ends when the balance is paid. Any other suspension is reviewed and lifted only by a person on the team: contact support if you think it is a mistake.

The team may also restrict or suspend accounts involved in fraud, repeated cancellations, false reports, harassment or the activities in section 18. Suspending a host is always a human decision.

15. Reviews and what you post

After check-out, a guest can review the stay once: an overall rating, six category ratings and a comment. Reviews must be honest, first-hand and respectful: no reviews in exchange for anything, and no reviews of your own place. Ratings and badges (Guest favourite, Top rated) come only from guests' reviews.

Anything you post (listings, photos, reviews, messages, your profile) must be yours to share and must not be false, abusive, hateful, sexual or illegal. You keep what you post and allow Alquilar to show it in the app and on the website and to translate it. We may remove content that breaks these rules.

16. Messages and attachments

Guests and hosts write to each other in the app; a conversation opens with a reservation. Keep your communication and your payments inside Alquilar.

Photos and PDF files you send are checked before they are delivered, and some may be held for review. No automated check is perfect: do not open anything that looks wrong, and report it. Messages can be translated automatically.

A conversation closes 72 hours after the stay ends. It then stays readable in Archived for 30 days, after which it is kept only for the team, for disputes and legal requests. Never share passwords, card numbers or verification codes in messages: Alquilar will never ask for them.

17. Safety, reports and moderation

Anyone can report a listing, and anyone can contact support about a person or a message. The person reported is not told who reported them. Reports go to the team, which decides; a report alone does not remove anything. You can follow what happened to your reports in the app.

In an emergency, call the local emergency services first (police 17, civil protection 14), then tell us.

18. What is not allowed

You may not use Alquilar to break the law; to commit fraud, launder money or use a payment method that is not yours; to ask for or take payment outside Alquilar to avoid its protections or its fees; to list a place you have no right to rent, or one that does not exist; to discriminate against anyone; to harass, threaten or defame; to post sexual, violent or hateful content; to collect data from the service by automated means; or to test, bypass or attack its security.

Breaking these rules can lead to the removal of content, the cancellation of reservations and the suspension of the account, and may be reported to the authorities.

19. Privacy: what we collect and why

We collect your account details (name, phone number, email, photo, the languages you speak and what you add to your profile); for hosts, identity documents, address and payout account; your listings, reservations and payments (we never see card numbers), reviews, messages and the files you send; the device you use (model, system, app version, a notification token, time zone) and sign-in events; your approximate location only if you allow it, to show nearby places; on the website, and only with your consent, analytics about how pages are used; and crash reports.

We use them to run your account and your reservations, to take and return payments, to pay hosts, to send you notifications and emails, to translate text you choose to read in your language, to prevent fraud and abuse, to enforce these terms, to keep the records the law requires, and to improve the service.

20. Privacy: who sees it, how long we keep it, your choices

Other users see what your public profile shows (name, photo, languages, when you joined, reviews) and, once you have a reservation together, what the stay needs (for the host, the guest's name; for the guest, the host's contact and the address).

We do not sell personal data and do not use it for third-party advertising. We share it only with the providers that run Alquilar for us (Google Cloud and Firebase for hosting, the database, files, sign-in, notifications, maps and translation; Google or Facebook when you sign in with them; Chargily Pay for payments; our email provider) and with the authorities when the law requires it. Data is stored on Google Cloud servers, which may be outside Algeria.

We keep reservations, payments, invoices, payouts, fee records and the records of disputes for as long as the law requires (accounting and fraud prevention), even after an account is deleted. Other data is deleted with your account. You can see and correct your profile in the app, choose which optional notifications you receive, and delete your account. Questions about your data: support@alquilardz.com.

21. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time from Security & account → Delete account. Deletion is permanent.

Deleted: your profile, your listings, your notifications and saved homes, and your sign-in on every device. Kept, because the law requires it: finished reservations with their receipts and invoices, payouts and fee records, messages already delivered to the other person, and the reviews you wrote (without your profile).

Deletion is not possible while something still depends on your account: an upcoming or ongoing stay (paid online or in cash), a payment being completed, an open dispute or refund, a no-show report not yet decided, or a withdrawal being processed. Settle those first.

22. Responsibility and disputes

Hosts are responsible for their places and for honouring confirmed reservations; guests for their conduct and for any damage they or their party cause. Alquilar is responsible for running the platform with care, for the payments it collects and for applying these terms. As far as the law allows, it is not responsible for the condition of a place, for what a host or a guest does, or for losses outside its reasonable control.

If something goes wrong, talk to each other first. If that does not settle it, contact support: the team will look at both sides and, where money is owed under these terms, decide it. Nothing in these terms takes away rights you have under Algerian law.

23. Changes and contact

We update these terms when the service changes. When a change matters, you are asked to read and accept the new version in the app or on the website before you continue; the version and its date are shown with it.
